Week 3: All the classroom games you can think of -- Triptico Plus
Hello! Welcome back to my blog, glad you
found this page :)
Today I am going to introduce a new
learning tool for you and I hope you will think this is useful for your
language teaching.
Bruce (2015) believes that the widespread of Internet has made teaching and educational resources more varied and easier to access, the modern teaching tools have made learning language more fun. For us, the teachers, using teaching tools like Triptico Plus reduces the effort and time we spend on classroom organization and lesson planning, and by uploading teaching resources to the internet, they are never get lost and you can use them over and over again (Yeah!)
In my opinion, language learning needs to be more interactive and teachers should provide more opportunities for students to communicate. Modern teaching tools do this by asking students to speak up, they can be used to bring students closer together in unfamiliar classrooms and especially for some shy students, they provides them with speaking content and encourages them to participate, which I think is very crucial for language teaching classrooms. Secondly, Bruce (2015) mentions a shift in the centre of the classroom; there are too many language classes where the teacher is the main speaker and the students play a passive role, whereas with the use of online teaching tools shift the focus back to the students and the teacher is able to get more immediate feedback to make adjustments to the rest of the class.
Triptico Plus
This is a teaching tool for teachers to present teaching resources to students in a number of interesting ways. The resources can be in various forms, from simple vocabulary to complex physics theories or mathematical formulas, the teacher will always find an activity that best suits their content. Teachers can use it for random grouping (classroom management) or to arrange a small teaching competition game, which can be very useful for enriching the classroom.
This is how I use Triptico Plus to teach
English:
Limitation
But, it’s important to say that using Triptico Plus is not 100% advantages. The main limitation for this is only teachers can control. Students can watch the screen and tell their answers orally, but they can not really participant the activity, which is a big challenge for students' engagement and their motivation. One way to improve this can be letting students take turns to control the screen and choose their favorite modes to play. Another drawback is the requirement for the equipment. It requires a computer and a projector, and it will work so much better if there's an interactive board or screen. That is to say, for some language teaching classrooms, it's really hard to use Triptico Plus in their teaching. If Triptico Plus can make some activities printable, it will help more classrooms and also increase students' interaction and engagement.
That's it for today, I hope you like my
content! See you next post :)

Your introduction of Triptico Plus makes me realize that it is an ideal modern teaching tool, which is interactive and interesting.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that you mentioned that users can reuse the resources they created with this tool by uploading them to the Web. I think it can effectively reduce the time for teachers to prepare lessons. While it would be more helpful to your target audience if you explained how to upload them in detail.
In addition, your blog is very objective, mentioning both the advantages and disadvantages of the software. I have a suggestion that using more references might add credibility!
Thanks for your sharing anyway. It's clear and useful.
Hi thank you for your kind advice. For the uploading part, the website have very clear instructure for it so I did't put in my blog, but I will improve it in my future post.
DeleteI really like your introduction to the triptico website. It is superb! Also, I found the matching activity proposed very interesting. It was very intelligent of you to support your point of view by using a journal article. Can I give you a suggestion? Your paragraphs are left-aligned; I think if you justify them, your text layout will look much better. Props and thank you for you post!!!
ReplyDeleteIn terms of content, this blog is well founded. In the introduction part, you properly used Lander's paper to explain the help of the Internet to language teaching, laying the groundwork for the next introduction of Triptico Plus. You also clearly explained the advantages and disadvantages of Triptico Plus, which is a kind of critical thinking! The blog provides new ideas for teachers' teaching. In terms of structure, your blog is well organized, which gives readers a complete understanding of Tripico Plus. My suggestion is that you can use some ordinal words (for example, firstly, secondly, or step 1 and step 2) to show readers how to use Tripico Plus. Additionally, towards the layout, you can make the text appear around the picture, thus avoiding the need for readers to turn up the page to find the corresponding picture or video. In short, your blog is very helpful to me!
